Why this blog?

This blog begins during the coronavirus pandemic.  This group of related viruses causes disease in mammals, birds, and even humans.  The disease spread globally at a fast and seemingly unstoppable pace.  The 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic is an ongoing pandemic of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome.  The outbreak was first identified in Wuhan, China, in December 2019, and was recognized as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 11 March 2020.

The impact of this pandemic is global.  People are fearful and everyday life is affected.   A new term,  social distancing, is being recommended to control the spread of the virus in the United States and other countries.  People keep their distance from each other.  They are on guard and focusing on isolation.  This new sense of urgency, uncertainty and fear is a real and present danger to mankind, both physically, emotionally and spiritually.  .

As a person of faith, I see this as an opportunity to remind us all of the One true and living God who created us all.  Hence this blog.

How quickly, and with such great urgency, so many people want to avoid any harm to their bodies or even death. They are tuned in to all the latest information on the symptoms, treatments, warnings and everything about the spread of this danger. They are willing to make even significant and unpleasant changes in their daily lives in order to be safe.

But when it comes to their souls, there is no urgency, no desire to understand, no heeding of the warnings God has given. They are unwilling to repent of their evil ways; they mock and persecute those who live and speak the truth from God. Their eternal destiny is at stake, but they take no interest.

"There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death." ~ Proverbs 14:12
